Over the course of this term I have tried to become a more educated golfer. I was able to do this with the help of technology and my brain. I was able to research golf clubs and technology that will benefit my swing and overall decrease my score. With the help of online websites I was able to research new shoes and conduct a swing analysis this week. I obtained a tracker and was finally able to use it this week. I just put the trackers on each of my clubs and swung them in the backyard with a practice ball. I have discovered that my driving and fairway is excellent. I need to work on keeping my putter and chips straight to become a better golfer. I think that I am ready for the season to start in two weeks.
Blog Post Week 8
This week I opened up my golf swing analyzer and read the instructions. The tracker is not able to work during freezing temps, so I will not be able to use it like I planned. Next week I will hopefully be able to do this.
Blog Post week 9
This week I went to a golf meeting with my coach and discussed tee off times for this year. I will be able to hit the driving ranges over spring break and switch over to the country club once the grass is warm enough to grow. I have since went out and bought a new pair of cleats for the season. I used dick’s website to purchase these cleats. Next week I plan to test out my new swing analyzer.
Blog Post Week 7
This week I ordered a new fairway wedge for my birthday. I used Dick’s Sporting Goods website to order this golf club. It will be valuable to use on the fairways during the season. I also bought a golf swing analyzer so that I can see my swing on a screen. It gives me my swing speed and angle so that I know what golf ball and driver shaft best suits me. Next week, I plan to figure out what golf balls to get
Blog Post Week 6
Last week I said that I would play WII golf and review my scorecards from last year. I did not play Wii golf, but I did lay out my scorecards and put them on sheets to compare. If I progress at the same pace as last year I am on set to shoot nine over on a nine-hole and eighteen over on an eighteen hole by the end of the season.
Week 4 Post
This week I researched some of the things that I can do in the winter for golf and there is actually a lot. I am able to find stimulation golf and I can order a swing analyzer to track my progress. This could be useful in improving my form for the upcoming season. My goal for next week will be to clean my clubs and balls.
Blog Post 5
This week I have cleaned my golf clubs and bought new balls for the season. I purchased the Titleist pro v1 golf balls. I used technology to decide whether or not I should get pro v1 golf balls or pro v1x golf balls. I also used technology to order them from Titleist. My goal for next week will be to play Wii golf and go over my scorecards from last year.
Week 3 Post
Over spring break I ordered a clone of the Taylormade R7 quad driver. I was previously using a Mizuno driver. I used technology to buy the clone online. Clones are basically the same thing as the regular driver, except they are cheaper. The workers that make the golf clubs steal the molds from TaylorMade and sell them to people in the U.S. that manufacture them and sell them at a discount.
Week 2
This week I could not do much because of how cold it is outside. Now that I have realized that we will need to accomplish our goals I realize that I should not have chosen it.
The Journey Begins
Over the course of my third semester at MCC I will strive to become a smarter golfer. I will do this by reading things about golf. Last year I just picked up any club and hit with it. This year I would like to know what I am doing so that my scores will be lower. I will not be able to test this until the end of this nine-week term when the golf season starts.
